An exotic car is booked for a reason rather than for transport. A wedding, a photo or film shoot, a brand launch, a milestone birthday, or a visitor who wants a weekend with something they cannot drive at home. The car is part of the occasion, so what matters is how it looks on the day, where it can go and who is at the wheel.
We run this class two ways. Self-drive rental is handled by Jumaira Rent A Car L.L.C. Chauffeured work is handled by Syed Abbas Passengers Transport by Rented Buses L.L.C, with uniformed chauffeurs who speak English and Arabic. Every car is a current model and fully insured, and every quotation is fixed and confirmed in writing before the booking stands.
The two groups below do different jobs and are not interchangeable. We have set out the practical limits as well.
What people book these cars for
Weddings are the most common. A grand tourer usually carries the couple, and a supercar is booked alongside it for photographs outside the venue. Speak to us before anything is fixed to the bodywork, so that ribbons and flowers are agreed in advance and the paint is not marked.
Photo and film shoots come next. The car stands on set for hours rather than driving, and a driver can stay with it to reposition between set-ups. Filming permits and location clearance stay with the production.
Brand launches take a car on static display, delivered and collected by us. Milestone celebrations run a day or a weekend. Visitors usually take a car self-drive for two or three days.
The supercars
Ferrari F8 Tributo, Ferrari Portofino, Lamborghini Huracan, McLaren 720S, Porsche 911, Audi R8 and Chevrolet Corvette C8. These are the cars people book to drive themselves. The F8 Tributo, Huracan, 720S, R8 and Corvette C8 are two-seat cars with the engine behind you, and they behave accordingly: loud on start-up, wide in traffic, low to the ground. The Portofino is a folding hardtop, which suits a shoot or an evening with the roof down. The 911 is the most usable of the group and the one to take if you are covering distance.
The Lamborghini Urus sits in this class and behaves nothing like the rest of it. Five seats, a boot that takes real luggage, normal ride height. It is the exotic that copes with a family, an airport run and a car park ramp.
The grand tourers, and where a chauffeur fits
Rolls-Royce Ghost, Rolls-Royce Wraith, Rolls-Royce Dawn and Bentley Continental GT. These are built to be travelled in, and they are the cars we put a chauffeur in.
The Ghost is the one that works properly chauffeured. Four doors, rear seats an adult can use without folding anything forward, and boot space for cases. The Wraith and the Dawn are two-door cars, so a chauffeured passenger climbs in past a folded front seat. That is fine for a short showpiece run and tiring across an evening. The Dawn is open-topped and photographs well. The Continental GT is quiet over distance and happiest with you driving it.
A chauffeur in a Huracan makes no sense. One passenger seat, a high sill to climb over, and nowhere to put a bag. If the point is to be driven, take a Ghost.
The practical limits worth knowing
- Seats and luggage. Most of the supercars are strict two-seaters. The 911 and the Portofino carry token rear seats better suited to bags than to adults. A soft holdall fits in the nose; two hard suitcases do not.
- Kerb clearance. Basement ramps at hotels and malls, speed humps and high kerbs at villa entrances all need care. A nose-lift helps where one is fitted. We sometimes park at street level and walk you to the door instead.
- Surfaces. Tarmac only. No sand, no unpaved tracks, no desert access roads.
- Heat. Dark cabins get hot standing still. Ask for the car to be delivered cooled, and keep roof-down plans to early morning or evening.
Airport collections are the common mistake. A supercar with two suitcases and a tired family does not work. Take a sedan or an SUV from the terminal and keep the exotic for the day itself.
Self-drive, deposits and licences
Self-drive goes through Jumaira Rent A Car on daily, weekly and monthly terms. A refundable deposit is held on a credit card in the main driver's name. Licence requirements depend on your residency status and on where your licence was issued, and minimum age and licence-held conditions apply to this class. We confirm what is needed at the time of booking, not at handover.
The rental agreement sets out the mileage allowance, the fuel and Salik arrangement, and how traffic fines are handled. Fines take time to register against a vehicle, so the deposit is released after that period, not on the day the car comes back. Additional drivers must be named on the agreement before they drive.
How a booking works
Tell us the date, the hours you need the car, where it has to be and what it is doing. We confirm the exact vehicle and its availability in writing, with a fixed quotation. VAT applies on the invoice.
We deliver and collect in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with an office in each. The operations desk is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and account clients get a named coordinator. On chauffeured bookings the quotation includes fuel, Salik (Dubai's road toll), parking and waiting time within the agreed allowance.
